It’s sold on any street corner in India, and you have probably wondered “what and why”. The Pan is chewed after a good meal. As a mouth freshener, that also helps digestion. (helped me a little to much once, so pick a relatively clean place)
It’s a mix of spices (cardamom, anis etc), lime paste, coconut, betel nuts and pieces of candy. Many variations availible. Everything is folded in a triangular shaped betel leaf.

I always pretended to eat, but spitted out once the one that bought it to me didn’t look. Now I know that some people eat it and most? spit it out. Next time I will spit with high confidence and make my first red liquid spot in the streets of India.
